Virtual Ministry Fair

Virtual Ministry Fair

Service and Social Opportunities at OLL

Everyone has gifts from the Lord, and we are all called to use them to serve him and our neighbors. Please consider using your gifts to further the Kingdom of God in our parish community. Our parish will now hold a Ministry Fair twice a year, but there’s no reason to wait to get involved! Browse this Virtual Ministry Fair, then fill out the Ministry Interest Form to have a parish staff member contact you. Or, if you’re ready to begin ministering, fill out the Ministry Application. You do not have to fill out the forms if you are already actively involved with a ministry.

+ Mission Ministries

Habitat for Humanity: Through the annual Unity Build, Our Lady of the Lake partners with others churches in the construction of a house for a homeless family.

Haiti Sister Parish: Our sister parish is Sts. Ann and Joachim in Labrande. This relationship did not begin with North Americans going and doing something for someone else; rather, the encounter began with us asking Haitians, “What are you good at?” They were surprised by the question and then responded with pride in their worship and their school. Now we assist with salaries for teachers and in building a new rectory.

Prison and Jail Ministry: This is a diocesan ministry through which volunteers are trained following an orientation session to discern if this is a ministry God is calling you to. These volunteers then provide prayer services or visitations at the Ottawa County Jail or visit juveniles at the local juvenile detention center. Many of the juveniles have no other visitors. Contact Jude Acheson at 616-475-1255 or jacheson@dioceseofgrandrapids.org for more information. At Christmastime, parishioners collect eyeglasses, tube socks, and other items for prisoners throughout the diocese.
